TOP ANAHEIM AREA ATTRACTIONS
Disneyland Park
Since 1955, Orange County has been home to a very famous Mouse. Disneyland Park, Mickey Mouse's kingdom and the crowning jewel of Walt Disney's marketing vision, entertains millions of visitors each year and is one of the most well- known landmarks of Southern California. The park encompasses more than 60 major rides, 50 shops and 30 restaurants divided among eight themed lands. New innovations like the "FastPass" system helps keep waiting in line to a minimum.
Disney's California Adventure
Disney's California Adventure just might be the second happiest place on earth. Located directly across from Disneyland Park, California Adventure squeezes a sampling of the Golden State's major attractions like Hollywood, Santa Monica Pier, Gold Rush country and others, into 55 acres of thrill rides, exhibits, shops, dining and other entertainment. California Adventure's newest ride and attraction is The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, an eerie trip through a haunted hotel with a 130 ft drop at the end of it all.
Downtown Disney
Downtown Disney is a 300,000-square-foot dining/shopping/ entertainment promenade. It features such flagship entertainment facilities as a House of Blues, a 12-screen movie theater, and an ESPN Zone. There are also 15 shops (including the inevitable, and massive, Disney store), seven full-service restaurants, and an open-air bar. It's a fun place to relax after a busy day at the theme parks.
Anaheim Convention Center
Anaheim first became a meetings and conventions destination in 1967 with the construction of the domed Arena which stands on Katella Avenue. Since those early days, the Anaheim Convention Center has gone through 3 major expansion projects plus several cosmetic renovations to update the Center. Each expansion added another major exhibit hall plus meeting space. The recently completed expansion is a complete transformation of the Anaheim Convention Center structure and surrounding campus.
Angels Stadium of Anaheim
Whether you call them the Los Angeles Angels or the Anaheim Angels, Angels Stadium is home to the one and only 2002 World Champion Angels. There is nothing more exciting to witness than to see this team make one of its signature incredible comebacks! Whether it's the fun rally monkeys, the loud thunder sticks or simply a great team, this team never seems to give up. The stadium was recently renovated at a total cost estimated at $100 million and the project was completed in time for the Anaheim Angels Opening Day, April 1, 1998. Angels Stadium of Anaheim has a seating capacity of approximately 45,050 and benefits from the beautiful Orange County weather.
Honda Center
As Southern California's premier entertainment and sports venue, the Honda Center hosts a variety of first-class events each year including concerts, sporting events and family shows. The 650,000-square-foot arena is home to the NHL Mighty Ducks of Anaheim as well as the prestigious John R. Wooden Classic and Fight Night at the Pond. Annual events include the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, the World Wrestling Entertainment and the Harlem Globetrotters.
Knott's Berry Farm
Knott's Berry Farm, America's oldest and twelfth most-visited amusement park, re-creates the atmosphere of the Old West in six themed areas including Ghost Town, Fiesta Village, Wild Water Wilderness, Indian Trails, The Boardwalk and Camp Snoopy. In all, Knott's Theme Park features 160 acres of wild rides, live shows and family attractions and is open every day of the year except Christmas.
Laguna Beach
Laguna has always been a resort area - a place for rest and relaxation. Laguna's universal allure is best expressed on a famous gate built in 1935 (which still stands on the corner of Forest and Park Avenues); it reads "This gate hangs well and hinders none, refresh and rest, then travel on."
Catalina Island
Just off the coast of Southern California is an island that looks much like California did two hundred years ago, a wilderness of oak, cactus, and sage, an island with secluded coves surrounded by ocean with lush kelp forests and abundant sea life. This is Santa Catalina Island, a wilderness preserved for all to enjoy.
Crystal Cathedral
Often called "the most spectacular religious edifice in the world", the Crystal Cathedral, designed by architect by Philip Johnson was made with 10,000 panes of glass covering the walls and ceiling, seating 2,890 persons. One of Anaheim's main attractions, the Cathedral is a must-see.
