Located just 25 miles outside of Atlanta in Hampton, Ga sits one of the country's top sports, corporate, and family entertainment facilities known as Atlanta Motor Speedway. The 1.5 mile track was founded in July 1960 and became the seventh speedway of a mile or more to host a Winston Cup race.

Despite periods of severe financial trouble in the 70's , Atlanta Motor Speedway has come a long way. Fans from early days might remember bringing blankets to sit on the dirt bank. During that time the only seating consisted of the Weaver Grandstands and wooden bleachers on the backstretch. In the Mid 90's Atlanta Motor Speedway added over 53,000 additional permanent seats along with a road course, additional parking, a gift shop and a four-color electronic message center.

Atlanta Motor Speedway not only has undergone massive expansion, but it has dramatically increased its menu, hosting everything from Busch Series, ARCA and Indy car racing to dog shows, concerts and business conventions.

Owner - Bruton Smith purchased Atlanta Motor Speedway on October 23, 1990.

Seating Made Simple

General Info

For reserved racing events, everyone must have a ticket, regardless of age. For general admission events, children 12 and under are admitted free.
All sections are wheelchair-accessible.
Seat numbers run from left to right in all sections if you are looking at the track.
There are two Family, or "No Alcohol", sections in the speedway: Section 113 in the Petty Grandstand, and section 11 in the Weaver Grandstand.
Seating throughout the venue is bench seating, but they do have backing.
There are 20 seats in each row in all sections, except the Weaver Grandstand, which has 38 seats per row.
Some seating is covered. The following rows and sections are covered: rows 53 and up in the Champions and Earnhardt Grandstands, rows 28 and up in the East Turn Grandstands, and rows 28 and up in the Weaver Grandstand in sections 11 - 17 only.
The Champions Grandstand contains 71 rows. Sections 130 - 158 include rows 1 - 26, and sections 230 - 259 include rows 29 - 71.
The Earnhardt Grandstand also contains 71 rows. Sections 118 - 129 include rows 1 - 26, and sections 218 - 229 include rows 29 - 71.
The East Turn Grandstand has 39 rows in sections 40 - 68.
The Weaver Grandstand has 36 rows in sections 0 - 25.
Suite passes are also available. Suites include a buffet, pre-race pit passes for Sunday only, and closed-circuit television throughout the race.
In the case of postponement due to weather, tickets will be honored for date of the rescheduled race. Empire Tickets will not honor refunds to customers who cannot attend a rescheduled race.

Seating Made Simple

Hottest Seats - Champions and Earnhardt Grandstands, rows 20 and higher. Located along the front stretch and close to the start-finish line, these are the best seats in the house. It is best to sit in the highest row possible so you can see the whole track. Because of the exceptional views of the track and pits, these seats will always be in high demand and carry a higher price.

Great Seats - Champions and Earnhardt Grandstands, rows 1 - 19, and the Petty Grandstand. A little less expensive, these seats still offer some great views. Sitting in the low rows of the Champions and Earnhardt Grandstands will keep you close to the action on the front stretch, but you will have problems seeing other parts of the track. If seeing a crash is your cup of tea, the Petty Grandstand seats are the way to go as most crashes occur in turn 4. The Petty Grandstand is an elevated section, which makes it like sitting 15 rows up on the front or back stretch. So the low rows are good seats, but again, it is best to sit in the higher rows so your view of the whole track isn't compromised.

Good Seats - East Turn Grandstand, and rows 12 - 36 of the Weaver Grandstand. Not the best seats in the house, you can catch some good action nonetheless. The East Turn Grandstand is another elevated grandstand and gives you prime viewing of the cars coming out of the backstretch into turn 3, but it is still advised to sit higher up. The high rows of the Weaver Grandstand are decent seats, but it is hard to catch all of the race.

Economy Seats - Rows 1 - 11 of the Weaver Grandstand. For those who are price-minded, these seats are for you. You won't see much of anything except the cars racing by on the backstretch, but you at least get to experience a NASCAR race.
