Golden State’s Klay Thompson Makes 2012 USA Men’s Select Team: Fan’s Take (Yahoo! Contributor Network)
(Tue, 22 May 2012 17:38:00 PDT)
With just one NBA season under his belt, Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson has already established himself as one of the faces of the franchise. He has demonstrated that he can be an all-around scorer with his ability to attack the rim and spot up from the three-point line. In 66 games, Thompson averaged 12.5 points per game, but once Monta Ellis was traded to Milwaukee in March, he upped his scoring to 17.5 points per game in the final two months of the season. Given Thompson's potential, he could easily improve in all areas.

The Golden State Warriors will likely move to San Francisco in 2017 (Ball Don't Lie)
(Mon, 21 May 2012 07:20:18 PDT)
When Joe Lacob and Peter Guber bought the Warriors in 2010, it was assumed by many that they eventually wanted to move the team to San Francisco, where they played for several years after their move from Philadelphia in 1962. While Oakland has served as the franchise's permanent home since the early '70s, "The City" promises a more affluent fan base and greater free-agent draw than "The Town." All the Warriors needed to make the move work is a suitable arena, which San Francisco doesn't currently have. However, if reports are to be believed, there's a plan in place to build the arena and get a move worked out soon. According to Adam Lauridsen of the Fast Break blog of the San Jose Mercury News, the Warriors could announce their plans as early as this week. From Lauridsen's Twitter account :

Jazz reach goal yet not satisfied with playoff run (The Associated Press)
(Tue, 08 May 2012 17:07:10 PDT)
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) As the seconds ticked down Monday in Game 4 of what would be a first-round playoff sweep, Utah Jazz forward Derrick Favors cursed all the way off the court.

The Utah Jazz? Gone till November (Ball Don't Lie)
(Mon, 07 May 2012 21:40:44 PDT)
The Utah Jazz couldn't even take a game in the team's opening-round series with the San Antonio Spurs. It took a furious rally in the fourth quarter of Game 4 for the Jazz to even lose a game by single digits ; they lost the four games by an average of 16 points. The shooters weren't shooting well, nobody could stay in front of Tony Parker, and one-time All-Star guard Devin Harris managed a shockingly low single-digit PER over the first three games of a four-game postseason. And it doesn't matter. Would we have liked to see the Jazz give the NBA's hottest team a few more close games, or even a win? Sure. But this wasn't ever supposed to be the year for Utah to attempt this. The Jazz went into 2011-12 fully ready to use each of the season's 66 games to develop rotations, give Tyrone Corbin his first full year -- if you can call it that with a shortened season and training camp, and so few practices -- as head coach and see how well the team's bigs played off each other. The answers, some 5 1/2 months later? There still aren't any. This group is still developing, and the playoff trip was a fantastic bit of gravy not so much for the extra gate revenue or needed work on an advanced stage against a championship-level team, but because it allowed Corbin and the Jazz more of what they needed the most — reps. What comes next? That depends on quite a bit.
