As a Philadelphia Eagles fan, watching the Super Bowl without my favorite team has become all too familiar. After all, the Eagles have only been there twice in history. I am used to watching other teams take part in the pinnacle of sporting events.

It took to Super Bowl week to do it, but Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid finally addressed the media and fans following the team's disappointing 8-8 season.
"I thought it was important to take a thorough look at things, in particular starting with myself and the job that I did this year, then the coaching staff, the players, the direction we might decide to go in free agency and begin on the draft," Reid said of waiting to discuss the season.
The thorough look included considering hiring Steve Spagnuolo to work with the Eagles' defense. Reid wouldn't say he'd hire Spagnuolo as defensive coordinator, however, which would have meant the dismissal of Juan Castillo.

Two more federal lawsuits have been filed in Philadelphia blaming the NFL for concussion-related dementia and brain disease. The latest fraud and negligence suits filed Friday also accuse the National Football League of hiding medical evidence about the risks of concussions and failing to warn players they risked permanent brain damage if they returned to play too soon after a concussion.
