Athletic Bilbao advanced to the final of the Copa del Rey with a 6-2 rout of Mirandes on Tuesday, bringing an emphatic end to the third-tier club's historic run. Goals by Iker Muniain, Markel Susaeta and defender Jon Aurtenetxe had Bilbao up 3-0 by the 22nd minute as Mirandes was simply outclassed in its first ever visit to San Mames stadium.

D.C. United have signed midfielder Marcelo Saragosa, who returns to MLS after two seasons in Azerbaijan. The 30-year-old Brazilian will be playing for his fourth MLS club. He played in 116 games with the Los Angeles Galaxy, FC Dallas and Chivas USA from 2004-10. Saragosa left MLS following the 2010 season to play in the Azerbaijan first division, first with FC Absheron and then with Ravan Baku.
